School based, peer-to-peer suicide prevention program.

  1. Hope Squad for Schools
  2. Hope Squad for Parents, Caregivers & Community

Hope Squads reduce youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention. Hope Squad members are nominated by their classmates as trustworthy peers and trained by advisors. Members are not taught to act as counselors, but rather how to be peer advocates, recognize signs of suicide contemplation, and respectfully report any concerns to an adult.

QPR Institute

Hope Squad is a partner of the QPR Institute. QPR is a Suicide Prevention program that stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer. It teaches people how to recognize suicide warning signs, ask about suicide, and persuade people to accept professional help. While QPR is an integral part of the Hope Squad curriculum, it is also a valuable tool for everyone in the community as we embark on a broader, more holistic approach to suicide prevention in Walworth County.
