Benefit Specialists

The mission of a Benefit Specialist is to help people figure out what benefits they are entitled to and what they must do to receive them. Benefit specialists are trained and guided by attorneys who specialize in elder and disability law. Benefit Specialists are often called "the red tape cutters".

Purpose

A Benefit Specialist is an advocate who can act on behalf of an individual. Many of the benefit issues faced by seniors and adults with disabilities can be very challenging. A simple phone conversation can often times be enough to provide information and guidance, however a home visit or office appointment may be necessary to review paper work and to examine all needs for support and assistance.

Elder Benefit Specialist

Elder Benefit Specialists help people over the age of 60 who are encountering problems with private or government benefit programs. They are highly knowledgeable in the following areas:

  • FoodShare
  • Medicaid
  • Medicare
  • Medicare Saving Programs
  • SeniorCare
  • Social Security
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
