Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group
We are proud to announce the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) awarded full accreditation status to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office on December 11, 2017. We are the third Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin to obtain this prestigious law enforcement status. The announcement comes after more than two years of preparation for members of the WILEAG assessment team to spend three days at the Sheriff’s Office in November. The team examined all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office including policies and procedures and management operations. The assessors reviewed policies and procedures for compliance with 212 standards.
The Sheriff’s Office voluntarily submitted to this accreditation effort and must show proof of compliance with the standards which is done through file review, interviews with staff, on-site tours and job shadowing with Sheriff’s Office employees. We successfully met this threshold with 100% compliance. The accreditation award demonstrates to the community that the Sheriff’s Office promotes law enforcement excellence within established professional law enforcement standards.
