Business Services

Lakeland Health Care Center’s (LHCC) Business Office, offers residents and their families a host of services. Stop by the front desk to say hello, ask a question, or make an appointment. Understanding how services in a nursing home are paid can be confusing. We are here to help you!

Financial Services

Financial services include billing for all room and board payor sources such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay residents. We offer assistance to residents, family members, and guardians whenever needed to help educate and give guidance.

Cost of Services

The resident is responsible for costs of services. That can include either the resident, or the spouse. The Financial Representative is responsible for making appropriate payments with the resident’s finances.

Payment Collection

It is the policy of LHCC to appropriately pursue the collection of all monies due the facility from third party sources, the resident, or other responsible parties. Collection procedures are in compliance with State and Federal collection laws.

Monthly payments are due by the 15th of the month. Accounts are considered delinquent after 30 days and finance charges may be applied. Failure to make monthly payments or to make a satisfactory payment arrangement will initiate in-house collection efforts. If in-house collection efforts are not successful, LHCC may seek the advice of our Corporate Counsel.

Insurance

Your insurance plays an important part in paying for the costs of services. We will make every attempt to collect from your insurance company.

Please be aware that some companies are considered Out of Network for Lakeland Health Care Center. They may limit their coverage to services, pay only a portion of the cost and have a deductible, a maximum payment, or a percentage payment feature. Check with your insurance provider for coverage.

Medicare

LHCC is approved for Medicare reimbursement subject to all Medicare regulations such as co-insurance, deductible and maximum benefits.
