White River County Park

White River County Park the County's largest and newest park, opened in July of 2014. With nearly 200 acres and two miles of frontage along the White River, this park will initially feature walking trails (almost five miles already developed) cross country skiing, a canoe/kayak launch, picnicking, fishing, hunting and trapping (by permit only).

While a park master plan is still being developed, future park uses and amendities could include additional trails, a sledding hill, gardens, restored prairies, park shelters and a nature center.

Directions to White River County Park:

White River County Park is located in Lyons Township at 6503 Sheridan Springs Rd. To get to the Park, go East on State Highway 36 from State Highway 120, for about two miles until Short Road is reached(on the South side). Then go South on Short Road less than half of a mile. The enterance to the Park will be located right at the intersection of Short Road and Sheridan Springs Road on the South Side.
