Intake & Booking Area

Once inside the jail, prisoners are brought to the Intake-Booking area. This area is where fingerprints, photographs, and personal history information is gathered prior to the prisoner being placed in one of the cells.

Initially, most prisoners are placed in a small, one-person cell located in Booking/ Intake. Depending on the time of day and severity of the offense, inmates will stay in these cells for up to 24 hours. After that most inmates are transferred to the Classification Pod where a Correctional Officer will determine which General Population Pod the prisoner will be housed.
