Civil Process

Date/Time:  All Sheriff Sales are conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursdays of each month (unless otherwise posted).

Place:  The Main Lobby of the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, 1770 County Trunk NN, Elkhorn, WI 53121

Payment Notice:  

  • A 10% down payment in the form of certified funds or cash is required at the time of the sale of the foreclosed property.

  • The down payment must be paid to the Walworth County Clerk of Courts.

  • Payment must be made in cash or by certified bank check.  Personal checks cannot and will not be accepted.

  • Suggestion:  Have certified funds in the amount of 10% of what you intend to be your maximum bid with you on the day of the sale.

Effective immediately, we will only accept Civil Process paperwork for service at the front desk of the Sheriff's Office Monday through Friday from 8AM to 4PM, with the exception of Restraining Orders which we will accept anytime.  You may mail papers with payment if you cannot drop them off during the specified times.  Payment must accompany paper service requests (except for restraining orders - we do not charge a fee to serve these).
