Hello, I’m Sheriff David Graves. Pictured with me is
Undersheriff Kurt Picknell (right). The constitutional office of the Sheriff
requires many duties and responsibilities.
Performing the complex and varied duties on a daily
basis requires dedicated employees coupled with consistent, high quality
training. The Sheriff's Department does not close after normal
business hours. We receive and dispatch emergency calls, patrol and
investigate suspicious activity, and keep secure a daily inmate population
currently over 300. All of these duties occur 24 hours per day 7
days a week requiring the dedication found within this website.
The natural resources available in Walworth County make
it a desired area to live. Many tourists or seasonal guests
ultimately become full-time residents of the county. This
development increases the demand for many services including law
enforcement. We embrace the challenge to maintain the quality of
life that we enjoy. Law enforcement and public safety is directly
related to this desired area in my constitutional duty.
