District Attorney (DA)

What are they?

Victim impact panels (VIPs) consist of a small group of victims of drunk driving tragedies who relate how their lives have been affected by the sudden loss of a loved one or injuries to themselves.   Panel members do not blame or judge offenders in the audience but attempt to affect the audience on an emotional level by telling their stories.  The victim impact panels represent a cooperative effort between  the Walworth County District Attorney's Office and Victim Services.

	All impact panels start promptly at 6:30 p.m. at Gateway Technical College, Elkhorn Wisconsin,  in Room 112 of the South Building.
	The doors will be locked promptly at 6:30 p.m., so you should arrive early.
	Photo ID is required.
	There is a mandatory $25.00 fee payable in cash only at the meeting.
	You must pre-register ahead of time to attend as seating is limited. Please contact Cindy Papenfus at the District Attorney's office at 262-741-7160 or cindy.papenfus@da.wi.gov to pre-register. An interpreter (Spanish, sign, etc. . . ) may be requested at this time.
	Participants are not to consume alcohol prior to attendance.

	No beverages or food are allowed during the meeting.
	A support person or any other interested party may attend but must also pay the $25.00 fee due to limited seating.
