Communicable
Diseases
The Walworth County Public Health unit is
responsible for communicable disease supervision within the county.
Communicable diseases are reported to the Public Health unit for
surveillance, investigation, and control.
Health care professionals are required by law to report
certain communicable diseases to the Public Health unit.
Diseases that are reported to the Public Health unit
include food- and water-borne diseases such as salmonella, campylobacter, and e.coli
infections, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia
and gonorrhea, HIV infections, tuberculosis, and vaccine-preventable
diseases such as measles and pertussis.
