Emergency Preparedness

The Public Health Nurses and staff are trained to respond to emergencies and plan with Emergency Government, EMS, fire, police, hospitals, nursing homes and schools for possible life threatening events to the public. As a partner with Walworth County Emergency Management, law enforcement, fire/EMS, and local hospitals, the Walworth County Public Health Department is prepared to respond to any emergency that requires the assistance of our nurses, sanitarians, and public health support staff. In the event of a communicable disease outbreak or influenza pandemic, the Walworth County Public Health Department is prepared to establish mass clinics to immunize or medicate the entire population of Walworth County. To talk with DHHS staff about Public Health Preparedness, call 262-741-3140 or call toll free 800-365-1587.
