Maternal Child Health Program

Public Health nurses help families with newborns to adjust to the many changes that occur during this special time. Staff provide information about caring for the new mother and infant, about breast feeding, about the infant's growth and development, and about required immunizations.

Staff will also answer questions a new mother may have about an infant's behavior and other matters.

Home visits by a Registered Nurse are available to all interested families.

The department offers group sessions for pregnant and parenting teens as well as referrals to other resources in the community that provide support for pregnant and parenting teens.

Public Health staff look forward to helping make this a special time in a family's life. For more information about the Maternal Child Health Program or to make an appointment for a home visit, call 262-741-3140 or call toll free 800-365-1587.
