Mental Health Counseling

Persons seeking counseling services should contact Intervention to be screened for the appropriateness of receiving counseling services from DHHS. Intervention staff will authorize an Intake appointment.

Upon completion of the Intake process, the person's case is reviewed by staff and assigned a therapist from the Clinical Unit. The therapist formalizes the treatment plan with the person.

Individual Treatment with licensed mental health and addiction professionals.

Psychiatric Treatment with Psychiatrists or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners, including evaluations and medication management.

Seeking Safety is a group using an integrated form of treatment for consumers who have experienced post traumatic stress disorder or have trauma-related symptoms and addiction issues.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program (DBT) offers weekly skills training groups and individual therapy for women experiencing difficulties with substance use, trauma, self-harm, sociality or emotional dysregulation.

Couples Therapy provides assistance in decreasing defensiveness, improving communication skills and creating a culture of trust.

Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a short-term family treatment approach that improves family functioning by guiding families through three phases:

  • engagement and motivation

  • behavior change

  • generalization

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) is a short-term, structured therapy designed to help children ages 5-18 and their families manage feelings, talk about the trauma and develop plans for feeling safe in the future.
