Cost of Services
In general, the cost to a client is based on an Ability to Pay system mandated by the State of Wisconsin. The Ability to Pay system uses family income to calculate the monthly fee a client pays...the lower the family income, the lower the fee.

For DHHS to determine the appropriate monthly fee, the client or the client's responsible party must provide current and complete information about family income.

If a client or the client's responsible party does not provide current and complete financial information, Wisconsin law requires the client and/or other responsible parties to pay the full cost of the service.

If a client has the ability to pay privately or through an insurance plan, the client should first seek services from the private sector, if such services are available.
