UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE

The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) underwent major changes effective July 1, 2001.  Only realty-related (fixture) filings are recorded with the local Register of Deeds of the county in which the real estate is located.  All other UCC documents are to be sent to the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), Uniform Commercial Code Section, P.O. Box 7847, Madison, WI 53707-7847. 

Standard forms may be obtained from the DFI Website.  Paper forms may be printed, completed and submitted for recording. 

The fee to record a realty-related UCC document is $30.
